The final Hants and event of the season secured another four wins and some impressive performances for Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club at Coalporters Junior and a novice sculls regatta.

The strong victories came in the J14 1x events which were claimed by Connie Batley-Smith and Josh Batchelor respectively, but strength in the doubles events also continued with an excellent win from J14 girls double for Martha Eggleton and Amelia Chambers, followed by their older teammates Layla Katirewa and Rose Collier in the J15 event.

There were runner up positions secured by Esme Walters in the Novice sculls, Rose Collier in the J15 1x, Alex Collier and Josh Batchelor in the 2x, and for the J16 girls quad, plus a mixed J14 quad and Annabelle Steward in the semi-finals.

Tobin Green making his competitive sculling debut had an excellent race to secure a fastest loser position in the semi-final and with final places secured by so many crews, this bodes well for the Junior events at the forthcoming South Coast Championships in Plymouth next month
